Specialties
Otolaryngology

The technique of FNA involves several fairly discrete steps:

- The identification of a mass lesion with appropriate clinical indications for aspiration. Clinical history is paramount.

- The introduction of a small gauge needle (23- 27g) attached to a syringe into the lesion.

- The application of negative pressure while oscillating as well as directing and re-directing the needle through the lesion.

- Preparation and staining of obtained material.

- Microscopic evaluation.

- Reporting of the results.

This course contains one video file which is audio only. There is a separate attachment of a printable PDF file of the power point slides  to follow along and make notes.
